DROWNING IN ÆTHER

Entry

On the second Christmas day I am visiting my family in my father’s hometown Weitersfeld in Austria. It is sub-zero and windy outside and the sun went down already about an hour ago, but I do hope that the solar panels had charged the satellite’s batteries just enough during the day, to be able to transmit. My cousin joins me and we climb up a hill next to my grandparents’ house where we often played as children. We do not talk. I set up the antenna on a wood pile and try moving and angling the antenna in every possible position. Sadly, it is silent again.
